Introduction
Ultrawave, one of the largest UK manufacturers of ultrasonic cleaning equipment. Has supplied a 265L ultrasonic cleaner to Charles Butler Motor Engineers (CBME).
Established in 1975, CBME are a family run business based in Angus, Scotland, providing a range of garage services to domestic, light commercial, marine and industrial customers.
Challenges for Charles Butler Motor Engineers
Motor Engineers require a high level of cleanliness for gearboxes and ancillary components. Previously a non-heated ultrasonic cleaner from another manufacturer was used, which proved challenging for the complete removal of oil and metallic particles. The intricate internal parts of the gearboxes need to be cleaned of these contaminants, task ideally suited for ultrasonic cleaning technology. Charles Butler Motor Engineers needed an effective solution.
The Solution for Charles Butler Motor Engineers
Ultrawave supplied an IND265D, an industrial grade, heated ultrasonic cleaner with a large capacity of 265 Litres for this application. The new Ultrawave ultrasonic cleaner incorporated heating technology which aids in the cleaning process, a feature that the company did not have access to previously, benefiting CBME.
Results
Since using Ultrawave’s ultrasonic cleaner, Charles Butler Motor Engineers have achieved better cleaning results when processing the gearboxes. In addition, cleaning time has been reduced by 25%, boosting productivity for CBME.
Jeff Butler, Owner, said “We are very impressed with the new Ultrawave ultrasonic cleaner, it is very effective and no other type of machine or cleaning process could achieve this same level of cleanliness.”
“The cleaning of gearbox parts now takes 25% less time than the previous method. We are also impressed that Ultrawave’s system is able to provide thorough cleaning of the gearboxes. Even the small intricate internal parts of the gearbox are now cleaned to a high standard.”
